Our Founder Rose was drawn to this charity when searching for her second rescue dog earlier this year. Rose now has two rescue dogs from Wild at Heart Foundation, both in love with her original rescue, Teddy Bear a street dog from Thailand who she brought home in 2016!
Wild at Heart Foundation exist to achieve one simple but ambitious goal: to end the suffering of dogs all over the world. They do this by providing funding and support to international rescue and adoption projects as well as organising spay/neuter campaigns, and delivering education initiatives to children, teaching our next generation how important it is to care for animals.
As a company we love and adore dogs. We feel so grateful that after a long search and going through many charities, we have found the Wild at Heart team who helped Rose bring home two beautiful girls, Iris and Grace! It's not just the dogs that benefit from their work. Studies show owning a dog reduces stress, alleviates anxiety and even can prolong a human's lifespan. Alongside our new charity partner Wild At Heart Foundation, throughout 2022 we will continue to support Farm Animal Rescue Sanctuary, a grass roots charity that we adore and hope to support for many years to come! We fell deeply in love with them when meeting the wonder woman behind it all Carole Webb. Carole is a real heroine who has dedicated her life to caring for animals in need. In 2018 she showed us around the sanctuary outside Stratford-upon-Avon where she lives on site and takes care of hundreds of animals at any one time. FARS is currently providing a safe home for 400 sheep, 13 hens, 7 pigs and 1 male dairy calf.
Thanks to the amazing people who purchase our products, we are able to support FARS with monthly donations to assist with their heroic endeavours! In 2021 we sent them additional donations totalling £5000 thanks to the support of You! our wonderful and loyal customers, many of whom share our newsletters and recommend PHB to family and friends! Over the years we have been able to support some great charities through what we named our 'One Love Foundation'. These include; Orbis International, a sight charity that took our Founders on a journey all the way to Ethiopia; Sense a charity for people with complex disabilities who we partnered with to help fund an amazing centre for deaf and blind children in our hometown Birmingham; The Trailblazer Foundation, a Cambodian based charity our founders discovered and were inspired by when travelling through Cambodia! With our loyal customers support we have been able to help fund clean water projects including providing clean water to families and villages by construction and delivery of bio-sand water filters and drilling wells, along with the construction of latrines to help increase a family’s, or village’s, overall hygiene.
PHB has supported over 100 smaller charities & fundraising events with thousands of free PHB products donated and as a company our charity works started with stocking up three local Birmingham food banks at Christmas time back in 2015. We now only support small grassroots charities that we have verified personally. Some big charities are run no differently to soulless businesses, and that we do not support!
